This is a 1996 Honda Acty Van finished in Silver, one of the Japanese imports we currently have available.

Powertrain on this Acty Van

This Acty Van carries the E07A: a 660cc engine. Honda stayed with a single overhead camshaft and twelve valves for the Acty right through to the end of production in 2021, rather than moving to twin cams. The 660cc engine drives through a 5-speed manual gearbox.

The 1996 Acty in context

By 1996 Honda had been iterating on the Acty for well over a decade, and it shows in how resolved the packaging is. This is the van-bodied side of the Acty family, sharing the truck's mid-engine layout under an enclosed body. The Acty's defining trick is where the engine lives: mounted transversely amidships under the load bed rather than under the cab. It looks like a cab-over, but structurally it is a mid-engined vehicle.
