A different reason to import

Toyota is not a kei manufacturer in the sense the rest of this site is — its kei trucks and vans are Pixis-badged Daihatsus, sold that way since December 2011. What brings Toyotas into a catalog like this one is the domestic-market range: Crown and Crown Majesta saloons, the Crown Estate wagon, Celsior, Altezza, the Sera, the Estima and LiteAce vans, and the Dyna light truck.

What tends to turn up

Two patterns repeat. First, luxury: Japan's flagship saloons were built to a standard the domestic market paid for and the US never saw in that exact form, and they arrive here loaded and almost always automatic. Second, utility: cab-over Dynas and camper conversions built on Toyota light-truck chassis, which are bought for the job rather than the badge.

Where to look next

The saloons and coupes are grouped in sedans and sports cars, the people movers in vans, and the working trucks in commercial trucks.
