Japanese Campers for Sale

4 vehicles

4 Japanese camper conversions, 1998–2000, $16,995–$38,995 — van, light-truck and minibus chassis fitted out for sleeping rather than purpose-built motorhomes. We inspect each vehicle, handle the import, customs and title paperwork, and deliver door-to-door for a flat $350 anywhere in the USA.

Japanese campers

Conversions, not motorhomes

The Japanese camper scene is built on conversions. A body shop takes an existing chassis — a one-box van, a light truck, a small bus — and fits a pop-top, a deck, bunks, a sink and lockers. What is currently listed here follows that pattern: a Nissan Civilian minibus with a 4.2-litre TD42 diesel, a Subaru Domingo with an Aladdin pop-top, a Toyota Camroad and a Honda Step Wagon deck conversion.

That matters because you are buying two vehicles at once. The chassis under it is a normal Japanese van or truck with normal Japanese parts availability. The habitation side is coachbuilder work, often in small numbers, and parts for it are effectively unobtainable.

The current list

4 campers, 1998–2000, $16,995–$38,995, 4 of them automatic. Campers appear irregularly and rarely in pairs, so this list is short by nature.

Before you buy

Spend your inspection time on the living side. Every roof joint and, on a pop-top, the full length of the seal and the lifting mechanism. The area under and behind the sink. Twelve-volt wiring and whatever it was spliced into. Water tank, pump and pipe runs. Gas appliances and their fittings, which are built to Japanese standards and may not accept US equipment or connections without changes.

Confirm from the listing exactly which interior fittings are included — conversions are frequently photographed with equipment that does not travel with the vehicle. Ask us for detailed interior photographs before you commit. Plating an import is a state matter, and the answer changes with the state line. Ask us and we will walk through your situation.
