Suzuki has built the Carry since 1961 — eleven generations, and the oldest nameplate the company still sells. It was Japan's best-selling truck nameplate for thirty-nine consecutive years from 1971, passing four million units by 2010. Carrys were mostly ordered in plain white for trade use; this one is White. Suzuki offered a differential lock and a limited-slip differential on the Carry from as early as 1986, and four-wheel-drive five-speeds got an extra-low gear. Suzuki was candid about who the Carry was for: individual shopkeepers, small workshops, and agriculture, forestry and fisheries.
