What a Carry Truck is

Suzuki was candid about who the Carry was for: individual shopkeepers, small workshops, and agriculture, forestry and fisheries. It has sold a dedicated farm grade with a differential lock continuously. Suzuki has supplied the Carry to other manufacturers to badge as their own — Mazda since 1989, later Nissan and Mitsubishi — so the same underlying truck circulates under several names, which is another reason the parts supply runs deep. Four-wheel-drive Carrys were sold specifically for agricultural and mountain work, which is where the low-range and locking-differential options in this family came from.

1996 Suzuki Carry Truck: engine, gearbox and running gear

The engine is recorded as the F6A. Suzuki built the F6A in carburetted, injected and turbocharged forms and in both six-valve and twelve-valve single-cam heads, and that breadth is part of why it survived so long. Gearbox on this Carry Truck is a 5-speed gearbox, driving four-wheel drive.
