1997 Suzuki Carry: the background

Suzuki has supplied the Carry to other manufacturers to badge as their own — Mazda since 1989, later Nissan and Mitsubishi — so the same underlying truck circulates under several names, which is another reason the parts supply runs deep. Carrys were mostly ordered in plain white for trade use; this one is White. The Carry uses the classic kei arrangement — cab-over body, engine mounted longitudinally under the driver's seat, drive to the rear — which keeps everything short-coupled and within reach. Suzuki offered a differential lock and a limited-slip differential on the Carry from as early as 1986, and four-wheel-drive five-speeds got an extra-low gear.
