Japanese enthusiasts call the Acty 農道のNSX — "the NSX of the farm roads" — because it was the only mid-engined kei truck, in the same layout as Honda's supercar. The Acty's defining trick is where the engine lives: mounted transversely amidships under the load bed rather than under the cab. It looks like a cab-over, but structurally it is a mid-engined vehicle. Because Honda kept the Acty mid-engined throughout, the E07A in this one sits behind the seats and under the deck rather than beneath them — every rival put its engine under the seat or at the very back.
