The Acty's defining trick is where the engine lives: mounted transversely amidships under the load bed rather than under the cab. It looks like a cab-over, but structurally it is a mid-engined vehicle. The Acty runs a de Dion rear axle with MacPherson struts at the front, a more considered arrangement than the plain leaf-sprung beam most of the class used.
