What an Acty is

Honda built the Acty from 1977 until April 2021, taking over from the TN series and, before that, the T360 of 1963 — the model that had put Honda into four-wheeled production in the first place. Japanese enthusiasts call the Acty 農道のNSX — "the NSX of the farm roads" — because it was the only mid-engined kei truck, in the same layout as Honda's supercar. Honda aimed the Acty at agriculture and forestry — its "Attack" grade was explicitly a farming model, with creeper gears and a rear differential lock as standard. The Acty runs a de Dion rear axle with MacPherson struts at the front, a more considered arrangement than the plain leaf-sprung beam most of the class used.

What is on file for this Acty

It shows 87,303 mi on the clock, with a condition of used on file. Interior colour is recorded as Brown.

How this 1997 Acty is put together

The engine is recorded as the E07A. Honda built the E07A oversquare — a 66.0mm bore against a 64.0mm stroke — which is why it would rather rev than lug. The E07A drives through a manual gearbox.

Living with an Acty

An Acty is not a substitute for a full-size pickup so much as a replacement for the trips where a full-size pickup was always overkill. At 29 years old, this 1997 Acty is outside the window where federal safety-standard conformity applies to an import. Price on this one is $5,921.
