Suzuki Jimny for Sale

8 Suzuki Jimny in stock, 1991–2001, $4,977–$10,049 — a kei-class four-wheel drive with a ladder frame and live axles, filed here alongside the trucks. Every one is a right-hand-drive Japanese import, inspected before it ships and delivered for a flat $350.

The Suzuki Jimny, in detail

What it is, and what it is not

The Jimny is not a kei truck; it is a small four-wheel-drive wagon built to the same 660 cc size class. It appears in this part of the catalog because that is how the vehicles were listed, not because it shares a body style with an Acty or a Carry. What it does share is the displacement limit — and almost nothing else, because underneath is a ladder chassis with live axles at both ends.

The generations in the importable window

The JA11 (1990–1995) ran a 657 cc F6A with an intercooled turbo, rated at 55 PS, raised to 58 PS in June 1991 and to 64 PS in February 1995; a three-speed automatic became available in 1992. In November 1995 the JA12 and JA22 replaced the leaf springs with coils while keeping the live axles — the JA12 on the F6A, the JA22 on the K6A, both at the 64 PS ceiling.

The JB23, from October 1998, kept the ladder chassis and added a dual-ratio transfer case selected from the dashboard in 2WD, 4WD and 4WD-L, with vacuum-locking hubs that can be shifted on the move at up to 100 km/h.

The 1.3-litre versions

Some Jimnys are not kei vehicles at all. The JB31 used a 1.3-litre G13BA, and the JB32 a sixteen-valve G13BB rated at 85 PS, with a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic; these are the wider Jimny Wide and Sierra models. Occasionally one of those is listed here too, so read the engine line rather than assuming 660 cc.

What is in stock, and what to check

8 Jimny, 1991–2001, $4,977–$10,049, 8 of them recorded as four-wheel drive, 5 manual and 3 automatic.

These get used, so inspect accordingly: chassis rails and outriggers, body mounts, the transfer case through all its positions, the locking hubs, and — on turbocharged cars — the turbo and its oil feed. Lifts and larger tyres are common on Jimnys and change how the vehicle drives and wears; read the listing for modifications. Every state handles imported vehicles a little differently, so treat registration as something to settle before purchase, not after. Ask us.
