Unlike almost everything else in the class the Jimny was designed as an off-road vehicle first and a road vehicle second, and its running gear reflects that. The Jimny is Suzuki's kei-class off-roader: a separate ladder frame, solid axles at both ends and a proper low-range transfer case, all inside kei dimensions.
