The Acty runs a de Dion rear axle with MacPherson struts at the front, a more considered arrangement than the plain leaf-sprung beam most of the class used. Honda's four-wheel-drive Actys use an on-demand Real Time system built around a viscous coupling, so drive goes rearward when it is needed rather than when the driver remembers to select it.
