Minicab Truck: engine and drivetrain

The engine is recorded as the 3G83. Sitting under the seats, the 3G83 is reached by tipping the bench rather than by opening anything at the front. The 1995 Minicab Truck came with a 5-speed gearbox, and that is what this one has. By 1995 the 3G83 had been in Mitsubishi's kei range long enough that its weak points and its strong ones were both thoroughly known.

Specifics for this Minicab Truck

Odometer at listing is 21537; the paperwork gives a Japanese auction grade of 4/B. The source recorded no unit alongside that figure, so 21537 is reproduced exactly as stored rather than converted.

Background: the Minicab Truck

Four-wheel-drive Minicabs were specified for exactly the conditions this one was built for — wet fields, gravel tracks and loading yards. This one is recorded in White, though the Minicab's natural habitat is a Japanese trade fleet in plain white. The engine is recorded as the 3G83, a Mitsubishi design from the company's own kei engine range.

Ownership and import of this Minicab Truck

A 1995 Minicab Truck is old enough to be simple and new enough to be usable, which is most of why this generation gets exported rather than scrapped. What you see is what we have: a White Minicab Truck on our lot, not a listing for a vehicle still in an auction hall. It is listed at $5,700.
