About This Vehicle
We have this 1994 Daihatsu Hijet Truck on the lot, finished in White, imported direct from Japan. Drive on this Hijet Truck is four-wheel drive. There are 10 photographs of this exact vehicle on this page — not stock images of a similar one.
1994 Daihatsu Hijet Truck: the background
Four-wheel-drive Hijets were aimed at farm and forestry work, which is where the sub-transmission low range and the differential locks in this family come from. Daihatsu sold the Hijet in an unusually wide spread of factory body styles — flatbed, PTO dump, panel van, canvas top, the extended-cab Jumbo from 1983 and the four-seat Deck Van from 1988 — because Japanese buyers specified them for particular trades. Daihatsu supplies the Hijet to other makers for rebadging — Toyota since 2011, Subaru since 2012 — and it was licence-built abroad as the Piaggio Porter in Italy and the Asia Towner in Korea.
The mechanical side of this Hijet Truck
The engine is recorded as the EF. Daihatsu's EF series is a 659cc three built in a great many variants, from plain carburetted versions to twin-cam and turbocharged ones. Drive reaches the road through a 5-speed gearbox, four-wheel drive.
1994 Daihatsu Hijet Truck: recorded details
It shows 38302 on the clock, with a Japanese auction grade of 4/B on file. The source recorded no unit alongside that figure, so 38302 is reproduced exactly as stored rather than converted.
What a Hijet Truck is good for
Plenty of buyers keep a Hijet Truck looking exactly as it arrived; this one is White and presented as we received it. Built in 1994, this Hijet Truck is 32 years old and clears the 25-year threshold at which imported vehicles are exempt from US federal motor vehicle safety standards conformity. It is listed at $5,700.
