The engine is recorded as the 3G83. By 1991 the 3G83 had been in Mitsubishi's kei range long enough that its weak points and its strong ones were both thoroughly known. Behind the White bodywork sits a 4-speed gearbox. The 3G83 carries a balancer shaft, which is unusual for a kei three-cylinder and is why it is smoother than its cylinder count suggests.
