The Nissan Clipper, in detail
A badge, not a design
Nissan has used the Clipper name twice. The original was a Prince-derived truck built until 1981, when the H40 Atlas replaced both it and the Caball. The name returned in 2003 on a rebadged kei vehicle, and it has changed donors since.
From 2003 to 2012 the U71T Clipper Truck and U71V Clipper Van were rebadged Mitsubishi Minicabs, with the Clipper Rio (U71W, 2007–2012) coming from the Town Box. From 2013 the NT100 Clipper Truck (DR16T) and NV100 Clipper Van (DR17V) switched to being rebadged Suzuki vehicles instead.
What that means for these vehicles
Everything currently listed here falls in the U71 window, so mechanically these are Minicabs — Mitsubishi engineering, Mitsubishi parts numbers, Mitsubishi service information. If you are researching one, read the Minicab material and treat the Nissan badge as cosmetic.
What is in stock, and what to check
5 Clipper, 2004–2011, $9,100–$11,000: 5 recorded four-wheel drive and 5 manual. Our engine notes on this nameplate are generic rather than vehicle-specific, so confirm the exact engine and gearbox with us before you buy rather than relying on the listing summary — ask us and we will check the individual truck.
Otherwise the inspection list is the Minicab's: bed floor, frame, cab corners, and the four-wheel-drive linkage. Because registration is handled at state level, the paperwork you need depends on your address. Ask us before you commit.
